Several Schools participated in the Alvin Adderley Road Race that took place on Friday, November 21st, 2008, in honour of the late Central Eleuthera High School (CEHS) Vice Principal.

Two high schools and five primary schools ran in the series of relay races in honour of the late CEHS Vice Principal.
CEHS and Preston Albury High School (PAHS) submitted five and three teams respectively to participate in five divisions, namely; Under 20 Boys, Under 17 Boys, Under 17 Girls, Under 15 Boys and Under 15 Girls.

These teams competed in a relay course spanning a 10 mile distance from Savannah Sound to Governor's Harbour.
In the Primary School Division competing teams ran half the distance, beginning in Palmetto Point and progressing to the same destination. Gregory Town primary, P.A Gibson primary, James' Cistern primary, Governor's Harbour primary and Emma Cooper primary all submitted teams for the much anticipated event.

With the sun beaming down the 13 teams put on a good race. Tony Crean one of the organizers commented he was pleased overall with the event, saying "Mrs. Adderley was here of course… it was nice to have her support".
He expressed satisfaction with the race, but said that it would have been even better if more schools had participated.

Race Results:

Under 15 Boys - PAHS by 3 minutes.
Under 15 Girls - A strong contingent of young teens from CEHS outran their U-17 counterparts from both RAHS and CEHS by about 5 minutes. The group included Altonia Ferguson, Shanti Greenslade, Kristina Knowles, Jamika Carey, Candice Calixe and Shelley Lise and Octavia Rolle. It's a group that did exceptionally well during track meets nationally last year, explained their coach, Tony Crean.

Under 17 Boys - With Wellington Wright on the last leg, PAHS came in 10 min ahead of CEHS.
The overall winner in the primary school division was P.A. Gibson Primary, followed by Emma Cooper Primary in second and Governor's Harbour Primary coming in third position.

Medals and trophies were awarded in each of the divisions.
