The Earth Is The Lord's And The Fullness Thereof
The Psalmist wrote the above words to remind us that we may claim to own what we think we own in this world but the reality is that we own nothing. The Bible begins with the words "In the beginning God created… ". God created this world for himself and created us to care for it and enjoy it with Him.
We stand in awe and amazement when we look at this vast, endless universe, with it's countless Stars, Planets, Moons and Galaxies and just think - that out of all we see God has chosen one place to call His own.....EARTH.
This planet is the only place where there are untold forms of life... from the cold dark depths of the ocean to the highest mountain peak there is life. In the wet swamps to the hot, dry desert sands there is life. In the air all around us, although much of it is too small for us to see; there is life. We live on a Planet that is teaming with LIFE.
Contrary to popular Christian belief, God's plan is not to take us away from the Earth to His Spiritual Heaven, no, His plan is to eventually move His place of residence to EARTH (Rev.21-22). I accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior in 1967, forty years ago, and since that time I have held to the belief that is commonly taught throughout the many Christian church denominations and reinforced in many of our Hymns and Songs that when we die we go to HEAVEN and continue living there.
Over the last forty years I also held to the theory that Jesus would return immediately to "RAPTURE" us away to Heaven where we are supposed to already be if we are dead.
