Key Dates for the E Clement Bethel National Arts Festival 2010

NASSAU, The Bahamas -- The Department of Culture in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture released the scheduled dates for the E Clement Bethel National Arts Festival adjudications.

In New Providence, the Music Adjudications are slated for March 15-17 and April 19-21, 2010.  Drama and Dance Adjudications are slated for March 22-26, 2010, and the closing date for all dance, drama and music entries is slated for February 28, 2010.  Arts and Crafts Adjudications is slated for June 2, 2010, with the closing date on April 9, 2010.

In Grand Bahama, Dance Adjudications are slated for April 27-30, 2010, Drama and Music Adjudications are slated for April 23-30, 2010, and the Arts and Crafts Adjudications is slated for June 2, 2010.

Late entries will be received for all New Providence and Grand Bahama entrants no later than March 5, 2010, the Department said.  

The Department also stressed that no one who is not on the schedule on the date of adjudications will be accepted for adjudications on the said day.

Adjudication dates for all Family Islands are slated for March 1-May 27, 2010.

Adjudications for Eleuthera, Harbour Island and Current Islands are March 1-4, 2010, Moore’s Island, Abaco is March 5, 2010, and Abaco is March 8-11, 2010.  Ragged Island will have adjudications on March 12, Mangrove Cay, Andros, on April 14, South Andros (Congo Town) on April 15, and Bimini on April 16, 2010.

Adjudications for Cat Island is slated for May 3, Mayaguana is May 4, Inagua is May 5, and Rum Cay is May 6, 2010.

Adjudications for Long Island is slated for May 10-11, Crooked Island is May 12, Long Cay is May 13, Acklins is May 14, San Salvador is May 17, mainland Exuma is May 18-19, Berry Islands is May 20-21, Farmers Cay is May 24, Black Point is May 25 and North and Central Andros is May 26-27, 2010.

The closing date for Family Islands, except for Eleuthera and Abaco, is slated for March 11, 2010.  Eleuthera and Abaco, the Department stated have closing dates slated for the same dates as New Providence and Grand Bahama.
