EFA Bahamas – More Bahamians Enrolling In Distance Education Programmes

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamians no longer have to travel overseas in order to earn a quality education.  Recently, Education for Advancement (EFA) opened an office in The Bahamas, and already, there has been a marked increase in the number of Bahamians enrolling in a variety of distance learning programmes, especially at the Master’s level.

Located in Nassau, EFA offers a wide range of degree and professional career training programs online, leading to qualifications which are recognised worldwide.  A range of subject areas is offered at the Associates, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate levels, including MBAs, Business and Management, Accounting and Finance, IT, Criminology, Education, Human Resources, Emergency and Risk Management, and Media and Communications.  Academic partners include the University of Leicester, a top UK university, recently awarded the 2008/9 University of the Year at The Times Higher Education AwardsAshworth College, a leading provider of accredited online education in the USA with over 100,000 active students and nearly 1,000,000 graduates worldwide.

Headquartered in the United States, John Evans, President of EFA said, “Establishing operations in The Bahamas is a very natural progression for EFA and will allow us to continue to build both our reputation and the range of support services to both existing and new customers.  This market is already doing quite well and contributing to our overall success.”

Andrea Tanguay, who manages EFA Bahamas, said: “There is an increasing demand for online and distance learning education in The Bahamas, because of all the varying demands being placed on people’s time.  In addition, the programmes are affordable with flexible payment plans, and you get to study at your own pace, on your own time and still earn a globally-accredited and recognized degree that is no different from what you would have received if you studied on-campus.”

In addition to the range of qualifications offered, EFA also plan to offer career development services and employment services in response to the changing needs of The Bahamas and the global environment.

Located on East Bay Street, EFA Bahamas can be reached by telephone at (242) 364-0260; (242) 424-5888 or via email at bahamas@efalearning.com, and by visiting our website at www.efalearning.com.
