RBDF, Coral Harbour, 22 Jun. - As a result of information received from U.S. law enforcement officials, a Dominican-registered vessel with 11 persons onboard was arrested for allegedly fishing in the territorial waters of The Bahamas by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.

The 40-ft. foreign fishing vessel “Lancha Dana Laura” was apprehended on Saturday evening approximately 1 mile north west of Little Inagua, by Enduring Friendship 18 (EF18) and HMBS P-38, which are both stationed at HMBS Mathew Town Base in Inagua, after it was discovered to have a quantity of marine produce onboard.  The vessel and its crew were apprehended and turned over to the Defence Force vessel HBMS Nassau, and are expected to arrive in the capital on Wednesday, where they will be turned over to the relevant authorities for further processing.
