H.G. Christie’s First Annual Agents’ Conference Declared a Resounding Success

Nassau, Bahamas (September 23, 2008) – H.G. Christie Ltd., the Bahamas oldest and most extensive real estate service recently held their First Annual Agents’ Conference under the theme, Realizing Success through Education, Motivation & Innovation, with resounding success. Over 30 agents from H.G. Christie’s offices throughout the islands of the Bahamas were brought together for a two day event that educated and inspired all attendees.

The conference began Friday, September 19th, 2008, at the newly opened Atlantis Convention Centre. The focus for the day was educational sessions designed to introduce innovative processes, enhance individual knowledge and solidify company cohesiveness.
John Christie, Vice President of H.G. Christie Ltd., welcomed agents and presenters to Nassau and Paradise Island, HG Christie’s largest market, and emphasized that the purpose of the conference was to “broaden knowledge,” and, “to ensure that we are working under a solid framework with a true team approach.” In his address Mr. Christie went on to openly address the challenges emerging with market declines on Wall Street and the global ramifications; stating “With the current economic setting as a back drop for this forum, there is no better time for us to be sharpening our skills and honing our craft..” He went on to say “...that historically in economic downturns people naturally turn to companies who they perceive have the ability to weather storms...who have the knowledge and expertise to guide them through the tough times. This is called the ‘flight to quality’ HG Christie, as you know, is one of the standard bearers, if not the standard bearer for quality real estate services in the Bahamas.”

This positive attitude was echoed by guest speaker Rodney Dillard, of Illustrated Properties Real Estate, Palm Beach, Florida. As H.G. Christie Ltd. is the exclusive affiliate for Christie’s Great Estates in the Bahamas, Mr. Dillard also spoke to the incomparable recognition that being a Christie’s Great Estates affiliate brings when discussing luxury real estate in a global market. “In that arena – there is no other!” emphasised Mr. Dillard. Mr. Dillard reiterated the value of this association further saying, “the combination of H.G. Christie and the exclusive representation of Christie’s Great Estates is the strongest affiliation you could have. It emanates success and prestige in luxury real estate around the globe.” Mr. Dillard brought personal insights into the visionary that Sir Harold Christie was, and spoke of his commitment, vision, and passion for the development of the Bahamas.

The following day was an Agent Caravan to showcase some of the premiere properties listed with H.G. Christie and to better acquaint Family Island agents with sales and development activity on New Providence, Paradise Island, and Rose Island. This day long tour was conducted by boat, on ‘mules’ (motorized golf carts), aboard a luxury yacht, and an air conditioned motor coach. Agents and directors were thrilled to tour the Ritz-Carlton Rose Island development, Ocean Club Estates properties, the Old Fort Bay development, and the Albany development.

The two-day conference included many high end amenities and numerous opportunities for agents, developers and staff to get acquainted at social events. A cocktail reception on Friday evening was highlighted by an impressive presentation by the KI Group of their luxury development at Roker’s Point in Exuma. This exceptional high end project consists of ‘The Riviera’ which includes a phenomenal marina and condominium development in phase one, as well as ‘The Sanctuary’ which consists of magnificent high end single family homes.

This high energy weekend culminated in a celebratory dinner where Mr. William McPherson (Peter) Christie shared some insights into his extensive catalogue of memories of Sir Harold Christie, the beginning of H.G. Christie Ltd., and his pleasure in witnessing the progress and growth the company continues to enjoy under the direction of his son, John.

As all attendees engaged in the events and presentations and absorbed the wealth of knowledge and experience disseminated over the course of the conference, it became apparent that while the philosophy of H.G. Christie Ltd. is ‘listening’, and while the company is globally renowned for their standard of ethics, the strength of H.G.
