Is the Barefoot Bandit - Calton A. Harris Moore in Eleuthera?
(Eleuthera, Bahamas) - National and International Press are reporting the presence of Colton A. Harris-Moore aka The Barefoot Bandit in Eleuthera but The Eleutheran was unable to confirm this with any of the local authorities we have checked with. We do know that police, acting on a reported sighting of a boat believed, though not known, to be stolen by Harris-Moore from Abaco, near to a Cay off Spanish Wells, North Eleuthera, by local fishermen, are "on alert" for the presence of the wanted man.
The 19-year-old has garnered quite a reputation over the years that has landed him on the FBI's wanted list. As recently as last Sunday, the "Barefoot Bandit", it is alleged, stole a Cessna 400 Corvalis from Bloomington, Indiana, that crash landed in Abaco on Sunday, with further reports of a stolen car, boat, and break-ins.
A manhunt however has not netted Harris-Moore and reports of his speeding over to Eleuthera are at this point uncertain.
According to an FBI wanted alert, posted online, Harris-Moore's aliases are : Colton A. Harris, Colton Harris, Colton Moore, Colton A. Moore, Colton Harris-Moore, Colton Koehler
He is taller than average at 6'5", weighing about 205 pounds, with a scar on his left arm from a knife wound. They also say that "Harris-Moore may be in possession of stolen firearms."
A $10,000 reward from the FBI is on offer for information leading to the arrest of Colton A. Harris-Moore, who the Agency has asked be considered, "ARMED AND DANGEROUS AND AN ESCAPE RISK".
The FBI says on its website that since his escape from a Renton, Washington, group home in April of 2008, "over seventy investigations have been initiated for which he is alleged to be the prime suspect. These crimes include residential and commercial burglaries, vehicle thefts, assaults on law enforcement officers, bank burglaries, boat thefts, and aircraft thefts. These crimes have been committed throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Washington State, Idaho, Oregon, and several locations in Canada."

Our country is way too small to harbor a fugitive so widely known. If he stays in the Bahamas, he'll quickly run out of places to hide, not to mention sympathy, as his petty larceny increases.
