Eleuthera's JA Speech Competition Winner travels to Grand Bahama

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) - Tanisha Brathwaite, a grade 12 student of the Preston Albury High School (PAHS) won the Annual Eleuthera Junior Achievement (JA) Speech Competition hosted by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture. The event took place on Tuesday, February 16th at 5:00p.m. at the Department of Education, Eleuthera District, Resource Centre in Savannah Sound.
Kenique Pinder of Central Eleuthera High School (CEHS) finished 2nd and Gequahn Colebrooke of PAHS finished third.
Following on from her victory, Ms.Brathwaite travelled to Grand Bahama on the weekend to participate in the The Bahamas Junior Achievement (JA) Conference which wrapped up on Sunday with over 300 participants from throughout the archipelago.
Eight students including Brathwaite, participated in the hotly contested National Speech Competition, held on Saturday evening under the theme – "Destined to Win".
Balcio Cooper of North Andros was adjudged the overall winner with Shelby McPhee of New Providence second and Winnae Hunt of Grand Bahama third.
