First Pastoral Anniversary Celebrated At The People’s Restoration Baptist Church

Reverend Philip M. Bethel, with his dedicated wife, Elder Yvonne Bethel at his side, celebrated his First Anniversary as the Senior Pastor of The People’s Restoration Baptist Church in Palmetto Point on Sunday, November 29 during the 11am morning worship service.

(Palmetto Point, Eleuthera, Bahamas) - Persons from throughout the island and a contingent from the Evangelic Assembly, where former Pastor Patrick Smith now serves, filled the resplendently dressed church in support and recognition of Pastor Bethel’s service throughout the past year.

The morning’s co-organizers included Rev. LeeCarl Sands, Rev. Elvis Cooper and Rev. Charlotte Davis.  Former Pastor of The People’s Restoration Baptist Church, Pastor Patrick Smith, shared a rousing message on leadership, its struggles, difficulties and triumphs, using the example of Nehemiah in his experience encountered during his crusade to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in the Old Testament.

Pastor Bethel, who has served as both a member of Parliament for 25 consecutive years, beginning in 1972, and a Cabinet Minister within the Bahamas Government, continues to serve his community in a deeply meaningful manner, and testifies, “If it were not for the love and the grace of God, it could not have been possible.
