(Eleuthera, Bahamas) - This past weekend a large contingency of Eleutherans went to Jensen Beach, Florida to participate in the Bahamian Marketplace at the annual Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival.

There were stalls set up with Bahamian arts and crafts, native food and drinks.  The junkanoo rushouts - with participants from Tarpum Bay, Rock Sound and Hatchet Bay, were contagious, with plenty of spectators joining the parade around the festival grounds.

Dr. Seabreeze performed his old time calypso/bahamian music to an appreciative crowd.

The Brilanders rocked the stage and were a big hit with all.

The Festival ran from Nov. 6th thru 8th in Jensen Beach, Florida and the presence of the Bahamian Market place represented a tremendous marketing opportunity for Eleuthera and the Bahamas.

The towns of Jensen Beach, Florida and Gregory Town, Eleuthera are official sister towns, linked by their annual Pineapple Festivals and mutual travel exchange for 19 years.

Although Jensen Beach has a relatively small population, the persons attending the Festival come from the entire Treasure Coast – West Palm, Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce and others.

Crowds packing the downtown Jensen Beach area were described this year as being even larger than previous years.
