Lutra Pure Engulfed In Flames

Lutra Pure Drinking Water & Ice, a major bottled water and ice supplier-based in Hatchet Bay, was destroyed by fire during the wee hours of the morning, Monday May19.

The Eleutheran Newspaper has learnt that  the fire was discovered by a motorist driving south on the highway at around 1:55 a.m. Initially, he reportedly observed a small fire on the "Meter Box" and went on to the Police Station in Hatchet Bay. When the motorists returned to the scene with police, the now raging fire had spread to the roof. 

Authorities have confirmed that the one storey  60' x 35' stone structure and its contents, owned by Stephen Cancino,  were insured. 

The building had last been secured by Mr. Cancino on Sunday evening at about 10:00pm and there was no one inside at the time of the fire.

It is the third major business in Northern Eleuthera to have been extensively destroyed by fire this year.
