Palmetto Point Homecoming - A Booming Success!
Palmetto Point came alive this weekend with the Annual Homecoming Festival, celebrated on May 7 thru 12, with delicious eats, treats and drinks to be had at a variety food stalls on site.
Hundreds gathered on the South Palmetto Point beach over the course of the holiday weekend to relax, swim, frolic and party-on into each evening. During the day, the beach setting enjoyed near perfect weather and calm blue tides, enticing frolickers to enter the water, even those who were fully dressed, while listening to soothing old time island vibes by talented local crooner, Dr. Seabreeze.
A floating bar in the middle of the bay served as further enticement to get wet and fully enjoy the idyllic setting. Rounding out the scene on Saturday and Monday was the Governor's Harbour Sailing Club's Mini Regatta races. At night, the beach lit up with entertainment from The Eleuthera Express Band, The Brilanders, Rum Runners and Stevie S. Locals and weekend visitors, dressed to impress, mixed and mingled, enjoying the music, food and special company.
The event is covered in May's issue of The Eleutheran which travels from our Southern to Northern tips this weekend.
