(Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera) - The sun was out in all its full glory on Saturday, June 20 across Eleuthera adding to the beauty as the nine young contestants in the 2009 Miss Teen Eleuthera competition took part in a motorcade from Three Island Dock in North Eleuthera, to Tarpum Bay in the south. With very little cooling breeze blowing and only the odd cloud overhead, it must not have all been the most comfortable for some of the ladies perched atop the hoods of decorated cars, but, if so, their faces never let it be known. They smiled and waved while they maintained their poised positions.

We caught up with the contestants, their chaperones and organisers at the start of their journey. With Harbour Island in the background they set off in splendid color after 1pm and by about 4:30pm they were in Governor's Harbour along the Bay front, after traversing the Northern settlements. After looping the settlement and refueling at Eleuthera Supply the cars which had grown in number, headed South.

Organiser Tia Seyfert, led the way introducing throughout the communities as the cars moved by, via loud speaker from a lead vehicle.

Excitement is building for what promises to be an interesting first for the current team, who hopes to introduce a Miss Eleuthera pageant in 2010.

The Miss Eleuthera Teen competition is scheduled for June 27, 2009 at Workers House in Governor's Harbour.
