Hottest Young Band in the Bahamas - Afro!

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) - A hot entertaining young Bahamian Band is lighting up the music scene with performances that are capturing the attention of their growing number of fans. I love them, [they are a] very fun and entertaining bunch!!! said an enthusiastic supporter, about the Harbour Island based Afro Band.

We first encountered the group at the 2008 Briland Music Walk and once again saw two strong performances at the Palmetto Point Homecoming and Gregory Town Pineapple Festivals in May and June 2009. They perform music spanning several genres and generations in the process touching the right note in their audience. In Gregory Town especially they had the crowd moving and put in a top-notch set of performances.

Their energy is electric! You can find them playing clubs in Harbour Island and certainly should see them at more events in Eleuthera and the Country. "The Afro Band" - A must see!

Current Band Members:

Renaldo Grant - Leader/Pianist
Brent Saunders - Pianist
Gershom Laing - Drummer
Theo Major - Brass
Tyrone Laing - Brass
Clement Fowler - Vocalist
Deaundra Sawyer - Vocalist
Dwight Stuart - Bass Guitarist

Most of the images in the gallery below are from Gregory Town 2009, with a  few from Palmetto Point 2009 and the Tempo-Briland Music Walk event in 2008.
