(Eleuthera, The Bahamas) - Authorities in Eleuthera have confirmed the apparent drowning death of a thirty nine year old American, Mr. Christopher Kilgore, in the area of Rainbow Bay beach on Sunday June 7th sometime after 3pm. The deceased who was about to begin work at the Bahamas Electricity Corporation’s new Hatchet Bay plant site on Monday, June 8th, was found face down in waters off the beach.

It is believed that a group of the Hatchet Bay Plant Site employees were boating on Sunday afternoon and came ashore at the Rainbow Bay beach, where some were snorkeling and others walking along the beach.  Mr. Kilgore was seen snorkeling and sometime later walking along an area of the beach where a rocky peninsula juts out into the water.  It was said that a brother-in-law of Mr. Kilgore went looking for him, when he was discovered in the water.  He was pulled out and CPR performed to no avail, after which he was taken to the Hatchet Bay clinic, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Ajero.

This incident is currently under police investigation.

Mr. Kilgore was from Chatanooga, Tennessee in the U.S.A.
