The Miss Eleuthera Committee, an affiliate of the Miss Bahamas World organization, has been established and is aspiring to hold its premiere pageant on Saturday, June 27th 2009. Towards this aim, the committee is reaching out to young Eleuthera women ages 13 to 24 and to potential Sponsors.

Organizers say that the exciting new pageant is aimed at educating, self-empowering, developing and training young women in the community in preparation for the national Miss Teen Bahamas pageants and Miss Bahamas pageants held annually in Nassau.

"Our desire is not only to have a unique Eleutheran presence in the pageant's system and to offer a true representation of the island, but also to encourage our young women to strive for excellence and to raise funds for the local charities", says the committee.
