South Eleuthera Emergency Partners (SEEP) will hold an Open House at their Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) on Sunday, March 1, 2009 in Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera at 2:00 pm. The Minister of National Security, the honourable Tommy Turnquest, the Minister of Health, the honourable Dr. Minnis and other special guests will be attending.
During this time, the Fire Truck which is housed there and was brought to the Island by SEEP and a group of concerned citizens will be formally handed over to the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Plans also include the re-commissioning of the ambulance to the Ministry of Health.
SEEP is proud to announce that the Royal Bahamas Police Force has partnered with them and will be taking over the operations and maintenance of the fire truck. This strengthens the relationship between the organization as well as the community. The expertise of the Royal Bahamas Police Force’s fire department will be passed on to the volunteers and those involved with the EOC. This important initiative has the full support of the Police Commissioner and his executive team.
