Eleuthera's 2008 Junior Junkanoo was held in Tarpum Bay on the afternoon of Saturday, December 13 in the presence of about 2000 persons according to an estimate by organisers.

Four primary schools (Weymss Bight, Tarpum Bay, Emma Cooper and Green Castle), one junior high (Deep Creek) and two senior high schools (Preston Albury and Spanish Wells) participated. Tarpum Bay prevailed in the category A primary division with Weymss Bight and Emma Cooper close behind and Preston Albury won out in the senior division. The category B primary division's one participant, Green Castle won by default. Similarly, Deep Creek the sole competitors in the junior high division took their default win.

Key Organizer, Mr. Johnny Butler commented that their were fewer schools involved this year with some having challenges with the cost of participation, however, he was heartened to see Spanish Wells and Deep Creek, who were both first time competitors.

Ongoing challenges with deciding the venue delayed official announcement of this year's event. However, The Eleutheran was told that the committee is working to resolve those issues.
