The New Bohengy II which arrived in the Bahamas in late October was christened in grand style on Thursday evening, November 13th 2008, when the Bahamas Ferries, as described by Mr. Khaalis Rolle, Chief Marketing Officer, “put together a reception to celebrate their partners, customers and special people that helped to make the business successful”. As guests arrived, the famous band, ‘The Brilanders’, provided down home musical entertainment.

The Hon. Tommy Turnquest and the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin were on hand to give congratulatory remarks. Amongst other compliments, Hanna-Martin lauded the operation for its assistance in the Sea Hauler incident. Most notably, Turnquest announced that, “the Government just this week, under the Prime Minister’s direction, has given instructions that we will make the Eleuthera terminals, both on the Mainland and at Harbour Island something worthy to match Bohengy II”. Other speakers included Chairman, Mr. Craig Symonette, Mr. Peter Vlasov, Shareholder and Board Director, and the Ship’s Designer.
