Man Found Dead on Windermere Island was Peter Beringer of Vero Beach.

(Eleuthera, Bahamas) - The man found dead on Windermere Island, is Peter Beringer (DOB 13/05/1959), the member of a prominent family of Vero Beach, Florida.
Beringer had reportedly arrived in Eleuthera on Christmas Eve and was scheduled to leave early in the New Year. He was staying with his mother on Windermere Island and accompanied by his girl friend, Zandra Simm and her two children.
The lifeless body of Beringer was found at the rear of “Surf Sound” residence shortly before 7:30am on Wednesday December 28th, 2011. Police visited the scene, in response to an anonymous call that reported the body of a male on the shorelines on the beach. They examined the body and according to reports, did not find any signs of injuries.
Police are believed to have recovered some material from the scene in close proximity to the body and are said to be investigating the death.
The body of the deceased, escorted by police, was flown to New Providence on a private charter.
