Dr. Peter F. Bizzell, Veterinarian and President of Proud Paws will be conducting a number of spay and neuter clinics in Eleuthera during the week of Nov. 10 – 15, 2008. The clinics are particularly for persons who otherwise might not be in a financial position to pay the fee for such a procedure, in full.

Clinics will be held on:
  1. Nov 10 & 11 - James Cistern
  2. Nov. 12 & 13 - Cancer Society in Palmetto Point
  3. Nov. 14 & 15 - Wemyss Bight

This effort is being supported by "Pet Pals", a local group dedicated to alleviating the suffering of animals.

In an attempt  to further Children's understanding of the importance of kindness to animals, the organization will also hold a Dog Show in Tarpum Bay on Jan 17, 2009 which is open to all children 15 and under, and their dogs.

The classes will be:

  1. Most well groomed
  2. Best Behaved
  3. Best Personality
  4. Best Trick

There will also be an essay contest under the heading: "Why I Should Spay or Neuter my Dog" and an Art Contest where the Children can paint or draw any animal - possibly incorporating the “kindness to animals” theme.
