“Customers Urged to Transfer before October 31”.

A team from the BTC Wireless/Cell Center in Nassau arrived in Eleuthera on Monday, September 22nd, for a week of training sessions with Wireless services personnel.  Training was conducted at all five (5) of the BTC locations across the island, including Rock Sound, Governor’s Harbour, Lower Bogue, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells.

The Governor's Harbour Wireless Training Session took place at the settlement's BTC Office on Thursday afternoon, September 25th, 2008, with Nassau Wireless staff explaining the migration from TDMA to GSM software.

Lenora Coakley, the Wireless Services Team Leader out of the Nassau BTC office explained, “We are doing pre-paid porting and post-paid porting. We’re transferring from the old TDMA system to the new GSM system – training the Eleuthera staff on transferring a wireless account from the old to the new”.

The team leader also urged customers in Eleuthera who have not had their accounts transferred to go into any of the BTC locations mentioned to have this done as soon as possible.  Persons failing to do this will completely lose their current numbers and account information as the TDMA system nationwide is being decommissioned on October 31st, 2008.
