Red Cross Accepting Donations in Rock Sound for Inagua and the Turks & Caicos Islands

In Rock Sound, Eleuthera, from October 1st to 31st, The Bahamas Red Cross Society will be accepting donations for Inagua and Turks and Caicos Islands which were badly affected by recent Hurricanes.

The Red Cross has set up a temporary area to receive donations of food, water, clothing, furniture and cheques at the Methodist Hall in Rock Sound.

The operation will be overseen by Mrs. Gloria Bain Administrator for South Eleuthera.

A Red Cross representative will be available to receive donations at the Hall as follows:

Each Wednesday 10:00 am to 1:00pm (starting Oct 1st)
Each Friday 4:00pm to 7:00pm
Each Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00pm

The society extends thanks to the community of South Eleuthera for their Consideration and Assistance.

Hubert Ingraham viewed the damage by air upon his arrival in Grand Turk aboard a US Coast Guard helicopter. Mr. Ingraham toured the storm ravaged islands of Grand Turk and South Caicos on Tuesday, September 9.  The storm carried sustained winds of over 130 mph, which caused damage to an estimated 85 PERCENT of homes in Grand Turk and severely impacted Salt Cay and South Caicos also.
