Fresh Vegetables List and More From The Market At Rock Sound
The Market at Rock Sound is advising this week that their fresh supply of produce from the United States, arrives on Thursday September 9th, 2010 and that this product will be on display by 1:00pm on said date.
This week’s fresh fruit and vegetables will include Kiwi, Papaya, Baby Spinach, Organic Spring Salad, Red Plums, Eggplant, Cello Mushrooms, Cucumbers, Pineapples, Golden Globe Grapes, Mini Carrots, Green, Red, Orange and Yellow Peppers.

Wraps: Great Nutrition with little or no cooking!
Too Hot to Cook and Want Something Nutritious? Try Wraps!
Wraps add variety to your life and are very nutritious. We now stock spinach, multigrain, corn and flour tortillas (‘wraps”) in the frozen foods freezer section at The Market. Which ever one you choose will create a delicious meal.
Wraps are a great substitute for ordinary bread when making a sandwich and kids love them because they are unique and very simple to make. Best of all there is little or no cooking involved!
Nutritional Value: The great thing about wraps are that they are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Wraps are more of a whole food than the white bread normally used for sandwiches, which is refined, processed and contains little nutritional value.
Recipe Tips: Take one wrap, lay tortilla flat, spread with vegannaise, mayonnaise, hummus or your favorite salad dressing. Sprinkle chopped vegetable mix on top. Choose your favorite combination of veggies chopped up: tomatoes, onions, chilies, celery, carrots, olives, peppers, onions, and lettuce. Make sure it only covers center portion of wrap as you will be rolling the tortilla. Leave 1-2” on edge. If you wish, add your favorite meats such as ham, turkey, beef or even tuna fish. Lay a thin piece/layer over the top of veggie mix and sprinkle with shredded cheese. (Alternatively, you can create either a veggie wrap or meat wrap.) Fold the remaining opposite sides over the mixture and then begin to wrap the tortilla tightly until you have a roll. Cut the rolled tortilla in half and enjoy!
Purchasing Tips: Vegannaise, Hummus and an assortment of Shredded Cheeses (including Mozzarella & Asiago with Roasted Garlic and Mild Cheddar & Monterery Jack) can be purchased in the Dairy Section at The Market. You can find a variety of fresh vegetables in the Produce Section.
