A New Beginning With A New Attitude - North Eleuthera High School First Day of Year 2010/11
(Lower Bogue, Eleuthera) - North Eleuthera High School (NEHS) like many throughout the country welcomed back its students on Monday morning August 30, 2010. For the school, the center of many headlines in 2009/2010, it was an opportunity to break out a fresh look and motivate students to start anew for the 2010/2011 year.
Under the stewardship of new Principal Frank Jones and with the support of parents in the community, the school is moving forward boldly with new vigor, focus and motivation.
“New year, new slate, write the story differently”, seemed to be the general theme at the Charles Wesley Methodist Church , just outside the school grounds where parents, teachers, students, and invited guests gathered to hold a ceremony to kick start the semester.

North Eleuthera High School students, enthused and ready to begin a fresh new school year.
“A New Beginning With A New Attitude” read the banner behind the podium hosting the speakers of the morning.
Officials present and participating in the ceremony included, Senior Deputy Administrator for North Eleuthera, Stephanie Rahming; Member of Parliament for North Eleuthera and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Alvin Smith; Chief Councilor, Theo Neilly; P.T.A. President, Mrs. Garnell Bethel and Brother Martin Kemp Sr. of Current Island, the main speaker on the morning.

Hon. Alvin Smith gives words of encouragement and support to both students and parents of NEHS.
Speakers on the morning encouraged the students to start this year anew, and to make this school year one they all can be proud of. The clean slate was demonstrated with a blank paper by Administrator Rahming to illustrate to students the power they held in their hands, this new year.
A highlight during the morning service was the presentation of awards to students who were honoured in the categories of Top of the Class, Honour Roll, Most Improved Student, Good Conduct, Sports and Special Achievement.
For the school, the new slate also includes new uniforms which were being worn smartly by the youngsters.

Pastor Creswell Cash leads in a word of prayer for the parents as they encircle the students of NEHS.

Parents and Teachers treat the students to an invigorating and uplifting musical rendition.
