The team consisting of Andretti Bain, Micheal Mathieu, Andrae Williams and
Christopher Brown took silver in 2:58.03 on Saturday August 23,2008, edging
bronze medalist Russia in 2:58.06. Neither team ever threatened the Americans
who captured Gold in an Olympic record time of 2:55.39.
It was the second medal for the Bahamas and the 15th for the English Caribbean;
matching the best ever medal count for the region, previously recorded in 2000.
Jamaica who set several world records in the sprints, finished with 6 gold, 3
silver and 2 bronze. Trinidad earned 2 silver and The Bahamas garnered 1 bronze
with Leevan Sands in the Triple Jump to go along with the silver in this event.
