Taran Carey and Oceanna Carey - Young People Of Excellence in South Eleuthera.

Taran Carey and Oceanna Carey were honoured by the Rock Sound Township committee at their 2nd annual Tree Lighting Ceremony led by Mr. Michael Dorsett.

It was quoted that this brother and sister team have achieved the highest G.P.A.’s in Preston H. Albury Secondary School.

To present the awards was the M.P. for South Eleuthera, Hon. James Oswald Ingraham.

Ms. Oceanna Carey and her older brother Mr. Taran Carey are described as "Young People Of Excellence". They exemplify several of the characteristics desirous of our youth on Eleuthera and throughout The Bahamas.

Striving hard to excel, Oceanna has maintained top of her class with a 4.00 GPA and a perfect attendance record for six consecutive years. She graduated as the valedictorian of grade six in Tarpum Bay Primary School. That year, Oceanna received the best Glat Awards, for Eleuthera and the only student of her class to accomplish 4 A's

Working hard to succeed throughout his primary school career, Taran maintained a 4.00 G.P.A. and was top of his class for six consecutive years. He was head prefect at his school. He obtained the highest District and Glat Awards for the island of Eleuthera and won the prestigious title of the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year for 2007, receiving a medal from the Governor General.

Taran and Oceanna are the children of Tiny & Sherrelle Carey in Rock Sound Eleuthera.

For their achievements to date we congratulate and encourage them!
