(SMG) History so profound was made in the United States of America, that it has reverberated around the world. By 11:00pm on Election Day, November 4th 2008,  Mr. Barack Obama, was declared President Elect of the world's most powerful country. In an overwhelming manner his team with Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden, defeated their republican opponents, John McCain and Sarah Palin.

With his inauguration in January 2009, he will become the 44th President of the United States and indeed the first of African-American ancestry.

Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a Luo from Nyanza Province, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, a white American from Wichita, Kansas. His parents met while attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where his father was a foreign student.
