"NEW SEPTEMBER 12 DEADLINE FOR CMEx MEDIA AND YOUTH APPLICATIONS"

WASHINGTON, DC (September 6, 2008) - Reporters, editors and aspiring young communicators who applied for fellowships to attend the December edition of the Caribbean Media Exchange on Sustainable Tourism (CMEx) are asked to resubmit their applications. New applicants will benefit from the extended deadline of Friday, September 12, 2008.

Due to a computer glitch, all applications sent via email must be re-sent to bevdread@msn.com  before the new September 12 deadline, while new applications are being entertained by Counterpart International, organizers of the conference.

CMEx is an interactive networking forum that enables journalists and young people from the Caribbean, North America and Europe to interact with development specialists and representatives of the hospitality sector, civil society and government.

Under review are partnership policies aimed at benefiting the lives of Caribbean communities. The dates and destination for this 13th full edition of CMEx will be announced shortly.

Journalists and editors - and youth (aged 15 to 21) - can apply for a limited number of fellowships which cover airfare, accommodation and registration.

Partial fellowships covering accommodation and registration also will be awarded.
